The Persecuted Church

Imagine if you can that you are preparing to go to a meeting. You are careful not to let anyone know where you are going. When you arrive and as others gather you are careful not to bring attention to the group or to the purpose as to why you have gathered....above all you realize that if you are discovered there is a real possibility that you could be arrested, beaten and even put to death. What is it that you have done wrong? Only that you have called yourself a Christian, a follower of Jesus Christ. It is very difficult for us here in the western church to identify with what these fellow believers endure for the sake of their belief. We take for granted the freedom we have here to express ourselves openly and without condemnation. For millions of believers across the world, this freedom is only an impossible dream. Let us be in constant prayer for these brothers and sisters and let us generously support the work of the Church in these countries. These pastors and ministry leaders need to know that they are not alone in the Kingdom work they are literally giving their lives for.
